Power up Business Blogging with SEO Plugins

Having a basic understanding of SEO is great, but it’s useless if you can’t transfer that knowledge to the page and make business bloggingsome strides with your website.  It’s simply not enough to understand SEO, you have to understand how to implement those basic techniques and tips into a working strategy.

For those going after business blogging on the WordPress platform, there are plenty of plugins that can help you utilize that SEO knowledge and put it to get use.  Plugins offer a variety of options such as guidance on optimizing the content, giving you simply fields to apply quality meta tags, making indexing more effective, creating internal link strategies and more.

Business Blogging with Plugins

If you’re not familiar with plugins, an SEO plugin adds a little extra section on the backend of WordPress to give you more management options where SEO is concerned for business blogging.  Finding the right plugins is usually a chore unless you know what to go after, because not all plugins are created equal.

If you want to give a bit of a boost to your SEO efforts with business blogging, here are 3 plugins we recommend for your WordPress blog.

Business Blogging with SEO Yoast

Yoast is a great plugin because it brings together a little bit of everything into one useful utility.  Not only is it free (as many plugins are) it features the ability configure your meta content for keywords, keyword templates, title tag templates, breadcrumb optimization (simplify navigation) and it’s one of the easiest plugins to understand.

Once you’ve got your information plugging it under the “general” section, you can use the page analysis tools to get recommendations on what you can fix in order to improve the optimization of a given page or post.

Business Blogging with SEO Smartlinks

An internal link strategy helps build relevancy for the pages within your site, much like offsite link building helps to build relevancy for targeted keywords.  The SEO Smartlinks plugin will automatically link keywords and phrases in your posts with other tags on the site.  It can also offer suggestions about what you should link to internally and where to link it.

This is a great tool for business blogging, as it can help build that relevancy for better search positions while also providing links within your content that keep a customer engaged in your sales funnel.

Business Blogging with SEO All In One

I’m a big fan of the SEO all in one plugin.  Like others, it’s completely free and it’s a great way to ensure that your pages and posts are optimized for search dominance.  It doesn’t offer an option for the body of your content but it allows you to apply custom meta titles, descriptions and keywords to each of your posts.  The plugin overrides any other settings on the site and will feed a specific optimized title, even over the given post title, to the search engines when they index the content.

The plugin also offers general tools to setup the meta content for the index page of your WordPress blog.  For those starting a business blogging strategy, this is a fantastic tool that works will with Google Analytics.

Since so many SEO plugins are free and easy to setup, it may be a good idea to try a few different ones to see what works best for your needs. You ultimately want a plugin to make sure that you aren’t missing anything that could improve your On-Page SEO.
